Trane has just extended their parts and compressor warranty for their Trane ductless air conditioning units. The previous warranty was five years, when registered to the original purchaser and installed by a licensed air conditioning contractor. As of Febuary 1st, 2017 Trane ductless splits will now carry a ten year parts and compressor warranty, when registered. This is a smart move by Trane considering Mitsubishi had just extended their warranty to ten years.
Trane has ductless splits that can reach 38 SEER efficiency levels. It’s also very important to note that Trane and American Standard are the only air conditioner manufacturer that will allow a new homeowner the ability to transfer the remaining years of the original warranty to a new homeowner. This is done by purchasing a transfer policy through their limited warranty registration department within 90 days of the sale of the house. This means that if the Trane system is 6 years old and was registered upon installation, a new homeowner can take advantage of the remaining four years.
