The acronym NATE (North American Technician Excellence) is an organization that is independent of HVAC companies and certifies installation or service techs with a knowledge based exam. A recent study says that approximately 87% of HVAC consumers prefer certified technicians. Associations that are part of the NATE coalition include the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers and the EPA.
To become a certified installer and/or service technicians, these techs must pass both specialty parts & core of either an service or installation test with a score of 70 or better. Specialties include air conditioning, air distribution, heat pump, oil heat and gas heat.
The NATE test is not easy, and not all techs will pass the exam on the first try. NATE certification shows that the techns who pass are the best in the HVAC trade when it comes to experience and knowledge installing or servicing your home heating or cooling system.
Call us for an appointment and we will gladly send you one of our NATE certified techincians. Look for our NATE logo on our website and if you are looking at other HVAC companies you should confirm that they are certified as well.
